SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

 

Start Line
Extends north from Green Buoy “J61”, which is halfway between Picnic and Narrow Islands, to the Committee Boat

 

Starting Area
The starting area will be at approximately N 45.59.40 and W 82.00.77, approximately 1.2 miles south of East Rouse Island.  The exact location will be announced at five (5) minute intervals on channel 80 VHF starting at approximately 9:30 AM.

 

Course
Sail westerly towards James Foot Patch. Round buoy “J66”, leaving the buoy on your starboard side.

Sail easterly to the Wabuno Channel and then proceed northward in the Wabuno Channel to Halfway Island, rounding the island on your port side.

Proceed southerly in the Wabuno Channel to Buoy “U2”,
leaving the buoy on your port side.

Proceed easterly to cross the finish line which is north of Buoy “J45” in the Little Current Channel.

NOTE: In case of easterly winds or other circumstances, the Committee Boat will notify all boats on Ch. 80 that the finish line may be changed. All boats will be required to follow channel markers. The Committee Boat will shorten the course, or call the race at 5:00 p.m. All boats left on the course will receive a place (2) places after the last boat that finishes within the time limit.

A countdown to the start will also be made on the VHF however flag signals will take precedence.


Monitor Ch. 80 for the start and duration of the race for info.

White sail boats will be given a 12 sec/mile credit in relation to spinnaker boats for overall scoring.
