SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

Start Line
Extends north from Green Buoy “J61”, which is halfway between Picnic and Narrow Islands, to the Committee Boat.

Course
Sail westward to buoy “J66” and after leaving it on your starboard side, proceed in a northerly direction to buoy “JP2” leaving it on your starboard side.

Then continue to the unmarked Bedford Island Reef.  When you clear the reef, leaving the reef on your starboard side, sail easterly to the Wabuno Channel where you then sail southward toward red buoy “U2”.

After leaving “U2” on your port side, proceed to cross the finish line which is north of Buoy “J45” in the Little Current Channel.

 

 

NOTE: In case of Easterly winds or other circumstances, the Committee Boat will notify all boats on Ch. 80 that the finish line may be changed. All boats will be required to follow channel markers. The Committee Boat will shorten the course, or call the race at 5:00 p.m. All boats left on the course will receive a place (2) places after the last boat that finishes within the time limit.

Prep flag down and 1 long sound
Class flag down and 1 sound

 

After the first start, boats will use their starting time as distributed by the race committee at the skipper’s meeting.

 

A countdown to the start will also be made on the VHF however the flag signals take precedence.


Monitor Ch. 80 for the start and duration of the race for info.

 

White sail boats will be given a 12 sec/mile credit in relation to spinnaker boats for overall scoring.
