The Little Current Yacht Club (LCYC) was founded in 2003 by Manitoulin Island boaters in Little Current, Ontario. The original impetus was to sponsor an international yacht race, the “Macman Challenge,” with Little Current as its destination and to establish a Youth Sailing Program to educate young people in the ways of the lakes—the lifeblood of Little Current since the town was established.
From those humble beginnings, LCYC has grown into one of the most dynamic boating clubs on the Great Lakes. In addition to sailing and racing activities, the club sponsors a number of programs that are both boater-friendly and widely supported by the cruising community.
